Major League

Welcome to the 2010 Major Leagues!  My name is Kevin Carey and I am the Major League Commissioner for 2010.  We are in our second year of affiliation with Little League International and participate in Ohio Little League District 9.  We are very pleased with our participation in the program.

For the 2010 season, we will have a regular season, season ending tournament as well as participate the in the District 9 All Star tournament.

We have been working very hard since the end of last season to make improvements to the program based on parent and player feedback.

New this year:

  1.  Player Evaluations – we will use player evaluations to balance our teams as well as help the coaches and parents work on the player strengths and challenges.  Please mark your calendar to participate in one of the dates (February 6, February 8 or February 18).

  2. All Major League teams will wear MLB replica uniforms.  Coaches will decide the team uniforms for the season.

  3. Spring Break Tournament  - if you and your ballplayer are in town Friday, April 9 through Sunday, April 11, MYO will be holding a Spring Break Tournament that weekend (based on interest during registration).  Teams will be formed based on age groups and team rosters, so do not worry if the rest of your team is out of town, individual players can sign-up as well.

  4. American and National League teams may have the opportunity to play regular season games with surrounding Little League Communities.  This is a great way for the players and coaches to play at different fields and against different leagues.

  5.  We will be hosting internal player skills days this year that will allow players, coaches and teams to have additional baseball instructions and practices.  More to come on this!

  6. We will be hosting internal player skills days this year that will allow players, coaches and teams to have additional baseball instructions and practices.  More to come on this!

  7. Field improvements at Cottell Park, including 46’ pitching mounds and 200’ home run fences for American and National Leagues.

Please check this tab throughout the season for any news and updates.

Please feel to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.

Thanks and see you out on the ball field soon!
