Leagues

Age Cut-off - To align our leagues with other large (national) organizations such as AABC and USSSA, we changed the boys and girls slow-pitch age cut-off dates beginning with the 2007 season.  All boys leagues has been changed from September 30th to April 30th.  The girls slow-pitch leagues has been changed from September 30th to December 30th (which will also make it consistent with the girls fast-pitch leagues).

MYO Leagues for 2007 (overview information only; for more details refer to the MYO Rule Book)

MYO offers 5 Leagues which are each administered by an elected Commissioner.  The age cut-off dates have been changed to coincide with other large (national) baseball and softball leagues such as AABC and USSSA.  Girls Fast Pitch and Slow Pitch softball league age bracket begin January 1st and ends December 31.  The age bracket for all boys leagues begin May 1st and ends April 30th.

T-Ball League has two levels:  T1 and T2.

T1 is for boys who are five (5) on or before April 30, 2008.  T1 exclusively uses a batting tee (no pitching).  Outs are taught but not counted.  Games scores and league standings are not kept.  Each player will bat once per inning.  Game is fixed 1 hour 15 minutes.

T2 is for boys who are six (6) on or before April 30, 2008.  If the ball is not put into play after 3 pitches from the coach, the batter hits off the tee.  No strikeouts.  Outs and  scores are kept but not standings.  There is no tournament.

Minor League has two levels:  Pony 1 and Pony 2.

Pony 1 is for boys who are seven (7) on or before April 30, 2008.  Players are randomly assigned to teams.  Coaches pitch the entire game.  Ten players on defense.  A regulation game is 5 innings.

Pony 2 is for boys who are eight (8) on or before April 30, 2008.  Coaches pitch (40 feet) the first two innings and players pitch (35 feet, maximum 2 innings) the remaining innings.  Ten players on defense.  A regulation game is 5 innings.

Major League has three levels:  American, National, and A.

American is for boys who are nine (9) or ten (10) on or before April 30, 2008.  Pitching distance 42 feet, base paths 60 feet.  Ten players on defense.  A regulation game is 6 innings. 

National is for boys who are eleven (11) or twelve (12) on or before April 30, 2008.  Pitching distance 48 feet, base paths 72 feet.  Nine players on defense.  A regulation game is 6 innings.

A is for boys who are thirteen (13), fourteen (14), or fifteen (15) on or before April 30, 2008.  Pitching distance 60 feet 6 inches, base paths 90 feet.  A regulation game is 7 innings.

Slow Pitch Softball has four levels:  F, E, D, and C.

F is for girls who are five (5) or six (6) as of January 1, 2008.  F is 3 pitches from a coach.  If the ball is not put into play the batter hits off the tee.  A regulation game is 4 innings.

E is for girls who are seven (7) or eight (8) as of January 1, 2008.  Coaches pitch the entire game.  A regulation game is 5 innings.

D is for girls who are nine (9) or ten (10) as of January 1, 2008.  Players pitch (35 feet) he entire game.  A regulation game is 5 innings.

C is for girls who are eleven (11), twelve (12), thirteen (13), or fourteen (14) as of January 1, 2008.  Players pitch (38 feet) the entire game.  A regulation game is 6 innings.

Fast Pitch Softball has four levels:  10 and Under (10U), 12 and Under (12U), 14 and Under (14U), and High School (HS).

10U is for girls who are at least nine (9) and still ten (10) as of January 1, 2008.  Players pitch (34 feet) the entire game.  A regulation game is 6 innings.

12U is for girls who are at least eleven (11) and still twelve (12) as of January 1, 2008.  Players pitch (40 feet) the entire game.  A regulation game is 6 innings.

14U is for girls who are at least thirteen (13) and still fourteen (14) as of January 1, 2008.  Follows local chapter USSSA rules.

HS is for girls who are at least fifteen (15) and still eighteen (18) as of January 1, 2008.  Follows local chapter USSSA rules.
