Fields
Field Status: 1/10/08 update - Mason City Council authorized the construction of Mason's newest park back in October 2006. In November 2006 construction began on the new 54-acre park on Mason-Morrow-Milgrove Road adjacent to the site of the new Water Reclamation Facility. The park is expected to be ready in the spring of 2008 and the Grand Opening is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 1008. General Information: The City of Mason has a limited supply of baseball/softball fields that is typically stretched given the demand from the many local organizations who need fields. There are currently 22 baseball/softball fields that are allocated for use by the Mason Parks and Recreation department: Heritage Oak Park (9 fields), Corwin M Nixon (4 fields), Mason High School practice fields (2), Mason Intermediate 4/5 (2 fields), and now the new Mason Sports Park (5 fields). There are also 4 baseball/softball fields in Deerfield Township (Cottell Park) that are allocated for use by Mason youth sports programs. MYO has historically played most of its games at Heritage Oak Park and Cottell Park. We are very excited to announce that MYO will also have use of the fields at the new Mason Sports Park when the park opens in April 2008.
