Rainout Information

How do I find out about field conditions or rainouts?
Field conditions for practices and games are determined by the Mason and Deerfield Township Parks and Recreation Departments, who inform MYO of the current field status, and then MYO provides this information on our rainout numberThe phone number is 513-588-0177.  Please pay close attention to the date of the message and call back if the information has not been updated yet.

By what time will the rainout number be updated?
The message will be updated as soon as Mason and Deerfield Township Parks and Recreation Departments inform us of field status (typically by 4:30 pm weekdays, 8:00 am Saturday, and 12:00 pm Sunday).

The Rainout number hasn't been updated and I'm sure the fields aren't dry enough to practice on.  What should we do?
It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to make a determination if the infield is usable.  All players, coaches, and families should use common sense.  As a general rule of thumb, if you leave a wet footprint on the dirt, the infield should probably not be used.  Even a few wet footprints make it very difficult for the Parks and Recreation Departments to keep the fields in proper condition.

Can we practice on the grass?
Unless the information on the rainout number states otherwise, practicing on the grass when infields are closed is at the Head Coach's discretion.

The Rainout number says that infields are closed but we can practice on the grass.  When I arrived for practice, the infield at my assigned field was dry enough to use.  Can I practice on the infield?
No.  Please respect the decision of the Parks and Recreation Department and move your practice to the outfield grass.

Will rained out practices and games be made up?
Practices that are rained out will not be made up.  Games that are rained out will be made up.  Rained out games are typically scheduled to be played on Sundays with game times starting no earlier than 1:00 pm.

Are rainouts posted on the website?
No.  However, makeup game and picture schedules will be posted to the website.

What if team pictures are rained out?
See the 'Picture Schedule' section of the Schedules  page.

Why would pictures be cancelled and practices not be cancelled?
The Photographer determines picture cancellation.  Practice cancellation, when the outfield (grass) is usable, is determined by the Head Coach.
