2021 Spring Registration is OPEN!

Welcome to the 2021 Mason Little League (MLL), Challenger League, and  Mason Youth Softball Spring Registration

Registration is now OPEN for all players wishing to participate in Mason Little League (MLL), Challenger, and Mason Youth Softball for the Spring 2021 Season!

In 2020, a difficult decision was made to cancel the spring season in light of the pandemic.  We were able to have a fall season and learned a lot about how we can have a 2021 Spring season.  Thanks to the parents, players, and coaches for doing your part and following rules that we all had to abide by in order to play in the fall.

As we are still facing uncertain times, the MYO Board met in November and it was decided we would open registration for the spring season.  The MYO Board also voted to give a 100% refund for registration fees, less any fee charged by our web provider, should the season be cancelled on or before March 15, 2021.  This will allow ample time for uniforms to be ordered in time for the first games.  However, we are looking forward to getting the season underway as normal.

We are sure there will be protocols we will all need to follow but we look forward to providing a fun and safe baseball and softball experience for kids ages 4 through 16 in the Mason and Deerfield area.  Our Mason Challenger League goes up to age 22 and welcomes players from all communities. MYO continues to grow and provide a place for all ages to play baseball and softball at various stages of development.

All divisions are open and parents please note any division can be closed at any time based on the number of coaches at that particular level.  As an all-volunteer organization, we are dependent on your help to make the season a success.  Please consider volunteering to coach a team.  Team size and registration availability are dependent on having enough coaches at every age level.

Here are some important dates:

11/15/2020: Registration OPEN

1/31/2021: Registrations CLOSE***

2/1/2021: Late Registrations are accepted***

2/24-26/2021: Teams are formed no later than this date

6/12/2021: Season end tournament begins for 8U, 10U and 12U (baseball). Softball TBD.

6/21/2021: All-Star Celebration for baseball.  Softball TBD.

***WHILE REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL 1/31/2021, PLEASE NOTE THAT AT ANY TIME REGISTRATION CAN BE CLOSED FOR ANY AGE GROUP OR DIVISION.  THIS MAY BE DUE TO THE LACK OF COACHES AND THE NUMBER OF KIDS SIGNED UP FOR ANY DIVISION.  AS A RESULT, WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO REGISTER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.  IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO REGISTER FOR A PARTICULAR DIVISION YOUR PLAYER WILL BE PLACED ON A WAIT LIST.

We also need volunteers to help with the following functions.  If you have time and talent available, please consider volunteering.

COACHES!
Field prep workers
Equipment pick up workers

Please contact a board member if you are interested in learning more.  We look forward to an exciting Spring 2021 Season!

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS:  I do hereby grant and give the Mason Youth Organization (MYO)  leagues, Mason Youth Softball, Mason Little League, Mason Challenger Little League, and Mason Aftershock, the right to use photographs or images of my son/daughter for whom I am signing with or without her name, both single and in conjunction with other persons or objects for any and all purposes including, but not limited to, private or public presentations, advertising, publicity and promotion relating hereto.  I warrant that I have the right to authorize the foregoing uses and do hereby agree to hold the Mason Youth Organization and any of its leagues as noted prior harmless of and from any and all liability of whatever nature, which may arise out of result of such uses.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. BY SIGNING YOU WAIVE CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.

As you go through the on-line registration process, you will be asked if you read the PCA/MYO Parent Pledge.  That pledge is below:

1.  I pledge to get my child to practice and games on time.  I understand that it can be embarrassing for my child to be late and that I may be putting him/her at risk by not providing adequate time for warm up.  I will be on time to pick up my child from all games and practices.  This shows respect for the coach, and it tells my child that he or she is my top priority.

2.  I pledge to use positive encouragement to fill my child's Emotional Tank because athletes do their best when their "Emotional Tank" is full.  I understand that fewer than 1% of youth sports participants receive college scholarships and that the top three reason kids play sports are a) to have fun, b) to make new friends, and c) to learn new skills.  I understand that the game is for the players, and I will keep sports in the proper perspective.

3.  I pledge to reinforce the ELM Tree of Mastery with my child (E for Effort, L for Learning and M for bouncing back from Mistakes).  Winners are people who make maximum effort, continue to learn and improve, and do not let mistakes, or fear of making mistakes, stop them.  I understand that mistakes are an inevitable part of any game and that people learn from their mistakes.  I understand that children are born with different abilities and that the true measure is not how my child compares to others but how he/she is doing in comparison to his/her best self.

4.  I pledge to "Honor the Game."  I understand the importance of setting a good example for my child.  No matter what others may do, I will show respect for all involved in the game including coaches, players, opponents, opposing fans, and officials.  I understand that officials make mistakes.  If the official makes a "bad" call against my team, I will Honor the Game and be silent!

5.  I pledge to refrain from yelling out instructions to my child.  I understand that this is the coach's job.  I understand that games are chaotic times for children trying to deal with fast-paced action and respond to opponents, teammates, and coaches.  I will limit my comments during the game to encouraging my child and other players for both teams.

6.  I pledge to refrain from making negative comments about my child's coach in my child's presence.  I understand that this plants a negative seed in my child's head that can negatively influence my child's motivation and overall experience. I will honor the PCA/MYO Parent Pledge in my words and actions.

We look forward to an exciting Spring 2021 Season!

Thanks,

Mike Elegeer, MYO President
Rob Baker, Mason Little League President
Jim Bockerstette, Mason Aftershock President

Dave Theuring, Mason Youth Softball President
Susan Murdock and Ryan Melvin, Challenger League Co-Presidents
